State Rep. Jim Haadsma on Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State Address

Wednesday, January 29, 2020
State Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) was joined by CEO of the Urban League of Southwest Michigan Kyra Wallace and Bedford Charter Township Supervisor Rande Johnson for Gov. Whitmer’s second State of the State address at the Capitol in Lansing on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020.

“Gov. Whitmer laid out a plan tonight to reestablish Michigan’s leadership on education and clean water while outlining solutions to jumpstart badly needed road and bridge construction. It’s clear that she shares my commitment to support young students, deliver more resources into classrooms and move away from the recent trends toward state micro-management of local schools, and I applaud the governor for partnering with the Battle Creek Community Foundation to inform parents about education options. Quality schools, good roads, and clean water are vital to attracting families and industry back to Michigan. I am eager to partner with Gov. Whitmer to put this plan to work.”
